As a Group, we are proud to support some incredibly worthwhile causes in West Africa.
OMA Ghana, in conjunction with Ipswich Town Football Academy and Yinson Production WA runs this exciting programme working with five schools in Tema to deliver daily & weekly sports programmes for boys & girls, build and run small development academies as well as assisting with the refurbishment of the participating schools.
The annual Futurestars Festival of Sport has become a hugely popular fixture and attracts teams from throughout the area and across the border into Togo.
Futurestars Agoe Academy
Back in 2006 Raman Ibrahim, OMA Togo’s Finance manager, set up Promostars football in Lomé to promote, educate and train future soccer stars.
Today the team is part of the Futurestars programme and runs eight age groups for boys and girls. OMA Togo supports the teams with equipment, balls, football kit, boots and notebooks. There are now seven coaches, a technical director and a sports director (who is also Head Coach for the Togo National Team U17s), and last year Promostars collected a total of 11 cups across the age groups, including winning the coveted Cup at the Futurestars Festival of Sport in 2016, and narrowly missing out to Futurestars Ghana this year when the final went to penalties.
Emarito Maritime School
OMA Togo is closely involved in funding the first maritime school ever built in Togo which opened in October 2016 and offers full training & certificates for Togolese seamen.
As well as providing funds, including for the electronic navigation simulator pictured, there are transport & logistics courses for which OMA will offer training and potential work placements and jobs.
