Closure of Douala Port for Presidential Elections

The Port Authority of Douala has announced that the Port of Douala will be closed from 0600hrs to 1800hrs on 12 October 2025 due to Cameroon’s presidential elections. The port authority has stated that security and safety services, port officers, beach maters, tug crews, and port control will still be on permanent watch. Supply vessels engaged in offshore logistics will also be operational during the closure.

In the heart of Ivory Coast, renowned for its legendary hospitality, this year’s Annual Logistics Country Managers Meeting was not just an event but a cornerstone in our journey towards shaping the future of logistics. Hosted under the adept guidance of our Group COO, Mr. Samad Osman, and the invaluable support of the Ivory Coast team led by Mr. B Aitchedji, the meeting was a fusion of strategic discussions, goal setting, and the strengthening of camaraderie among leaders in our field.

We were honoured to have the presence and contributions of our Group CEO, Mr. Gerrit Van Der Merwe, whose insights and leadership continue to inspire us all. The event’s success was a testament to the collaborative spirit that defines our group, showcasing the collective effort of every participant.

This year’s meeting focused on crafting our future by discussing strategies, setting goals, and engaging in meaningful dialogue about the path forward. Through a series of thematic sessions, workshops, open discussions, and even fun games, this created an ambiance filled with memorable moments, laughter, and, admittedly, a bit of pain as some challenges proved tough. Yet, it was the prevailing team spirit and a competitive yet fun mindset that carried us through to the end.

Port Authority of Douala – providing extra security.

The Port Authority of Douala issued the following statement on 22nd August:

Shipowners and shipping agents of vessels calling at Douala Port are hereby Informed that in view of giving more security to vessels, it has been decided that each vessel at anchorage at Base Buoy
(B9) will be provided by an armed security team for their protection. The team will remain on board the vessel throughout her stay at anchorage and will leave after berthing.

This operation which is totally free will be conducted for an indefinite period.

Captains of the vessels and their crew members are kindly advised to collaborate with the team for the succes of the operation.
