This was facilitated by certified professionals. The sessions equipped participants with essential fire prevention, emergency response, and life-saving skills, strengthening the company’s readiness to prevent and respond to emergencies.

The shipment was carried on commercial aircraft, arriving on three separate flights.  The OMA Logistics airport team was required to carefully coordinate the associated paperwork with Ghana customs authorities, to ensure that the US Embassy duty exemption for this humanitarian aid shipment remained valid once all three shipments had landed.

With the utmost care and professionalism, our hard-working team at Swissport terminal completed the operations, clearance and delivery in good time to the Ridge Hospital in Accra who were awaiting the supplies and equipment.

The OMA Logistics Ghana team arranged the movement of the generator from Takoradi port to Antwerp where it connected by road to its destination in Massa, Italy for the repair works.  Once the work was completed OMA arranged the pick up from the shipper’s workshop in Massa to travel by road to Leige airport in Belgium where it was loaded onboard a freighter aircraft to Accra, and onward by road to Takoradi.

Working closely with our excellent network of global partners meant the journey was trouble-free from beginning to end, across several modes of transport in three countries. The generator arrived back safely and on time for the planned maintenance schedule onboard the FPSO.

Ben Line chartered the plane and OMA was granted special access to the terminal to allow us to oversee the discharge of the cables from the aircraft and from there, transport them safely to the airport warehouse.  The aircraft landed at 1500 hrs and the cables were promptly discharged and delivered to the warehouse within a two-hour framework.

Logistics Manager Bonaventure Atchedji commented: “The success and smooth running of this type of operation is mainly a result of applying the rules of planning and communication with all stakeholders.”

40km of road repairs had to be made along the stretch of unmade road between Atakpamé and the Nangbeto site and escorts provided – ensuring they were both delivered on time and in perfect condition to their remote location.

The generators arrived by seafreight and our client chartered a plane for onward transport to Niamey. The plane arrived early and our team, working very closely with customs were able to clear the cargo in record time and load onto the aircraft without delaying the charter.  Once the generators arrived it was clear that two trips would be required and our team worked tirelessly over the weekend to ensure a smooth and punctual operation.  Well done OMA Logistics Togo!

The project involved positioning specialist handling equipment and earth moving equipment to the sandy soil storage area where the pipes were laid and positioning 30+ 40ft containers to compact/solid area 500m from the pipes.

An excavator was used to extract the pipes out of the soil and carefully move them to the containers. Using wood runners inside the containers, the crane lifted each pipe while the excavator stowed them safely in the container. From there OMA transported the containers to the port, arranged customs clearance and loading on board the vessel. Excellent communication was needed between the forwarding client BDP Belgium (on behalf of the DME Group) and our liner agency client Hapag-Lloyd to ensure the smooth loading, delivery and onward shipment to Hamburg and Antwerp.
