OTC is a show for energy professionals to meet to exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge for offshore resources and environmental matters.  Founded in 1969, OTC’s flagship conference is held annually in Houston.

MACN and its members promote good corporate practice in the maritime industry for tackling bribes, facilitation payments and other forms of corruption. MACN collaborates with key stakeholders, including governments and international organizations, such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to identify and mitigate the root causes of corruption in the maritime industry.

The MSGBC region is a rapidly developing area for the oil & gas sector and as a consequence, the industry demands that challenges in developing the much-needed logistics infrastructure, are quickly overcome.  The sector also has high expectations in relation to local content and which OMA is well positioned to assist with.

Didier is a senior logistics manager with extensive experience in the oil & gas industry in Sub-Saharan Africa, most recently with BP Angola. His expertise includes logistics base set up and implementation and contract management and execution.

Xavier and Benjamin will be based in Europe and Senegal and will focus on OMA business development opportunities and investment strategy in Senegal to support the upcoming oil & gas projects, strengthening OMA’s strategic market position in this growth market.

They join OMA with a wealth of experience in the energy industry having previously worked in operational logistics on some of the largest deep offshore development projects with Total in Nigeria and Angola and Maersk Oil in Angola. Based on this extensive and proven experience, they jointly set-up the company 3PL Energy Ltd, based in Dubai, specialising in the oil & gas supply chain. 3PL Energy aims at providing innovative operational approaches to facilitate smooth execution of logistics operations.

Through our involvement in the MSGBC area we are joint sponsors of the MSGBC Local Content Forum, taking place on the 27th of November, at the Pullman Teranga Hotel in Dakar, ahead of the MSGBC Basin Summit & Exhibition. The event is focused entirely on developing strategies for local content and in-country capacity within the MSGBC Basin (Mauritania – Senegal – Gambia – Bissau – Conakry) region.

Following on from the Forum, Ministries and NOCs from the MSGBC (Mauritania-Senegal-Gambia-Bissau-Conakry) region will come together in Dakar at the MSGBC Basin Summit and Exhibitionon 28th – 29th November.

The Summit is the only event dedicated to exploring the potential of the MSGBC Basin and is an opportunity to hear the latest on the recent offshore discoveries in the area. The Summit will also serve as the ideal platform to understand how to move the MSGBC Basin into the next stage of hydrocarbon exploration and production, as it brings together government officials, international oil companies and independent operators.

Four years ago a joint venture between Yinson Production Pte Ltd and OMA Ghana Ltd was awarded the contract to build and operate the OCTP Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit (FPSO) for Italian energy company ENI.

The first oil was delivered a full three months ahead of schedule and importantly within budget. The party was a chance for all parties involved to celebrate the hard work and a fantastic achievement.

In 2014 OMA Ghana Limited formed a joint venture with Yinson Production Pte Ltd of Singapore and together won the bid to build and operate the OCTP Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit (FPSO) for Italian energy company ENI.

In 2015 the OMA Ghana-Yinson JV was awarded the lease, operations and maintenance contract for 15 years, with a 5 year additional option. The FPSO is expected to arrive in Ghana during the first half of 2017, with operations due to commence a few months later, in August. OMA Ghana will provide significant support services throughout the installation and operational phase of the project.

This month the giant FPSO unit measuring 333m × 58m set sail from Singapore and is expected to arrive in Ghana in mid April.

The joint venture also awarded the lease, operations and maintenance contract for 15 years, with a 5 year additional option.

Once the FPSO has arrived, actual operations are expected to commence in August. OMA Ghana will provide significant support services throughout the operations and maintenance phase.

The Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) is an integrated oil & gas development project in Ghana. OCTP will provide domestic gas supply to national thermal power plants, addressing energy requirements in both urban and rural areas, and where they are needed the most.
