GPHA – Christmas Holiday Arrangements
To all Tema & Takoradi Port operations / users, please be advised that the arrangements over the Christmas period are as follows:
The Port of Terna will be closed to traffic from 0600 hours on Christmas Day Wednesday, 25th December, 2019 to 0600 hours Thursday 26th December, 2019.
The Port of Takoradi will be closed to traffic from 0600hrs on Wednesday 25th December, 2019 to 0600hrs on Thursday 26th December, 2019.
Consequently, there shall be no vessel movement (berthing, sailing, and shifting) or cargo handling in the Port during the specified period except in an emergency.
Resumption of vessel movements and Stevedoring operations will commence at 0600 and 0700 hours respectively on Thursday 26th December 2019.
Cargo clearance and delivery operations will however resume on Friday, 27th December, 2019.
All licensed Port Operations whose office or facilities are located within and around the Port are advised to ensure the ADEQUATE SAFETY, FIRE PREVENTION/ PROTECTION AND SECURITY MEASURES are maintained during period.
All air conditioners and electrical gadgets not in use must be switched off,
Tema – Frequent Fire Patrols will be carried out by Firemen on duty.
Takoradi – Frequent fire patrols / rounds MUST be carried out by standby men on duty
Appropriate permits, such as HOT WORKS should be obtained prior to commencement of any work from the Harbour Master’s outfit and monitored by the Port Fire and Safety Department.
